Strategic Account Director

Your Responsibilities

As a Strategic Account Director at Reason One, your job is to create trusted, long-term relationships with accounts through strategic roadmapping, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll advocate on behalf of our clients’ needs and objectives with our project teams and client-side decision makers. 


In this role, you will:

  • Act as the main strategic and relationship point of contact for your client portfolio, empathizing with and advocating for their needs

  • Work closely with clients to plan and implement a digital roadmap aligned with business goals to strategically grow the account while balancing agency profitability and client outcomes

  • Proactively identify and act on opportunities for the client 

  • Address client challenges in an effective and timely manner

  • Collaborate with practice leads, product managers, and marketing & optimization to create recommendations and deliverables that align with client objectives

  • Lead quarterly continuous improvement cycles to optimize clients’ digital properties, improve organizational governance, and manage a strategic backlog of their priorities

  • Be responsible for client retention, developing cross-selling opportunities and communicating our product and services

  • Stay abreast of industry and competitor trends. Regularly collaborate on new ideas and insights that benefit clients, and educate our internal teams

  • Deepen client relationships beyond primary contacts by mapping an organization’s strategic plans, stakeholders, and departments while regularly engaging with them

  • Develop strategic proposals for clients based upon data, research, and priorities in their digital roadmap

  • Lead agency teams in scoping projects, creating estimates, and writing contracts for new client work

  • Generate and prepare reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) on the health of each client account, quarterly business reviews, profitability, digital roadmaps, and growth strategy

  • Participate in sales, business development, and marketing activities as needed providing industry and subject matter expertise in support of landing new accounts

  • Provide business and user analysis, as needed, across project initiation, discovery, and key project milestones

  • Enter project and opportunity information into the internal project management and CRM tool

Our must haves

  • 5+ years of experience with account management in an agency environment AND/OR in a strategic management role within a health system

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong analytical, leadership, and facilitation skills

  • Able to confidently present and propose solutions to the team & clients

  • A persuasive, confident approach to projects and client relationships

  • Ability to respond to and mitigate issues with internal teams and clients

  • Keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints

  • Ability to draft complex statement of work and SLA contracts

  • Experience reporting on client KPIs and working with CRM tools

  • Experience with website implementation and development, system integrations, and online marketing strategies and tools

  • Experience managing multiple large-scale website and digital marketing projects at a time

  • Able to understand technical jargon and communicate with both technical and non-technical team members

  • Experience working with content management systems

The practicals

  • Location: This is a fully remote, work-from-home position. Candidates must be based in the US or Canada.

  • Core working hours: 9 AM - 5 PM EST

  • Start date: As soon as possible

  • Reporting: This role reports to Sean Kozey, President/Co-founder

Compensation package

  • Annual Salary ranges from $100,000 - $125,000 USD depending on experience and qualifications
