Prisma Health wins Digital Health Award for uniting properties and extending patient access to resources
Summary: We're thrilled for our client, Prisma Health, for their well-deserved recognition of this game-changing project: merging their web properties under a new brand and launching a new intranet, all during a global health crisis.
In the wake of a merger, and despite obstacles posed by the pandemic, Prisma Health completed a daunting web-based initiative. Working with Reason One, the entity successfully unified two digital properties under one new brand, PrismaHealth.org, extending access to vital patient resources. The feat was so impressive, the organization has now received a 2023 Bronze Digital Health Award, appearing alongside such names as The American Heart Association and AARP.
The Digital Health Awards highlight the best in digital health resources for consumers and health professionals, recognizing and raising awareness of important industry advancements. The competition, now in its 25th year, occurs in both the Spring and Fall in order to keep pace with the dynamic, fast-changing nature of digital health.
Prisma Health was born from the merger of Greenville Hospital System and Palmetto Health, creating the largest nonprofit healthcare system in South Carolina. While under one umbrella, each had dated intranets that lacked important functionality. With COVID changing the direction of healthcare practices, a single source of information was needed to more effectively serve its 1.4 million patients.
“The purpose of PrismaHealth.org was to unify and replace our legacy websites, providing an exceptional consumer experience by making it easy to schedule appointments and receive care,” said Richard Baldwin, Manager of Digital Engagement Services, Prisma Health. “This is done by helping our patients find the doctors, locations and services that best meet their needs.”

In addition to tackling the consumer website in Prismahealth.org, during the same time period Prisma Health partnered with Reason One on replacing their legacy intranets. “This was the first major digital initiative we tackled as a newly formed organization,” continued Baldwin. “It involved presenting one unified voice to our teams and enabling members to find the tools they needed to do their jobs quickly. Launching during a global health crisis was a challenging and rewarding effort. It was only made possible through the combined work of numerous internal teams, stakeholders, and our external partners, including Reason One.”
The Digital Health Awards aren’t just about shiny trophies; they’re a nod to those pushing the envelope in technology to make healthcare better. Reason One appreciates working with forward-thinking partners like Prisma Health to overcome limits, bring about a brighter digital future and help those who do good, do even better.
